Data Dashboards
Glasgow City Council are part of the Open Government Partnership. As part of this work the Council are aiming to make data as easy to access and understand as possible, for our communities and for our partners, to inform decision making.
By utilising the data already available across a number of sources, we hope to encourage a greater understanding of the issues which affect communities in Glasgow. Data can be used for further analysis, and decisions are made from an informed basis to the benefit of Glasgow's communities.
A number of Data Dashboards are available or in development to add to this understanding.
Neighbourhood Dashboard
The Data Team within Community Empowerment Services, Glasgow City Council investigated all publicly available official statistics, specifically aiming to collate data available at data zones which are low level geographies of around 700 people. Data zones are then accumulated into neighbourhoods which are small geographical areas which tend to be more recognisable by communities than multi member wards.
A Neighbourhood Dashboard has been developed allowing users to compare the chosen neighbourhoods against other neighbourhoods, Glasgow City as a whole and Scotland, and to better understand what the data informs about the 56 neighbourhoods in Glasgow.
The dashboard is currently under construction
We hope that by encouraging a greater understanding of the data and the analysis of it, decision makers can utilise the dashboard to make informed decisions to the benefit of Glasgow's citizens.
Open Data Dashboards
The Glasgow open data hub is a free platform where anyone can discover open data about Glasgow and explore it in more depth using tools to help visualise and analyse. The team have created a number of useful dashboard with relevant information also available here:
