These four off road motorcycles patrol areas in the West Community Planning Partnership area considered unsuitable for normal foot or vehicle patrols such as the canal areas of Drumchapel and surrounding wooded areas.

These areas, due to their nature, tend to  attract people who engage in crime and anti social behaviour.  The motor cycles, staffed by community policing teams,  provide a means to intercept, deter, patrol and provide reassurance to the local community.  They are sent out depending on need as well as a routine basis to areas identified as hot-spots for disorder.

As well as funding from the West Community Planning Partnership, the motor cycles are also funded by Glasgow Community Safety Services, Drumchapel / Anniesland Area Committee, Garscadden / Scotstounhill Area Committee and Strathclyde Police.
