The Greater Pollok & Newlands /Auldburn area is an aggregation of the Council wards of Greater Pollok and Newlands/Auldburn. It includes many distinct communities including Pollok, Corkerhill, Priesthill, Nitshill, Darnley, Arden, Carnwadric, Pollokshaws, Newlands and Cathcart. The population of the entire area is 57,000, or just under 10% of the total city population. The local CPP is one of the largest in the City by size and population.
 
Together with the Govan & Craigton local CPP, it forms the larger South West Strategic Planning area. The South West area is served locally by a dedicated team of support staff from the Community Planning section of Glasgow City Council.
