The Govan & Craigton area is an aggregation of the Council wards of Govan and Craigton. It includes many distinct communities including Govan, Ibrox, Kingston, Craigton, Mosspark, Cardonald, Crookston, Penilee, Corkerhill, Bellahouston and North Pollok. The population of the entire area is 60,500, or over 10% of the total city population. This makes it one of the larger CPPs in the City by population size.
Together with the Greater Pollok & Newlands /Auldburn local CPP, it forms the larger South West Strategic Planning area. The South West area is served locally by a dedicated team of support staff from the Community Planning section of Glasgow City Council.
This section reports on the work of the Govan & Craigton local Community Planning Partnership and the decision making of the local Board.
