A Vibrant Glasgow - SWAMP

South West Arts and Media Project (SWAMP) is an organisation that supports young people throughout the southwest area of Glasgow and beyond to: ‘Promote and encourage the study, practice and knowledge of Creative Media and Digital Technology in Glasgow.

SWAMP uses the arts to enhance literacy and cultural awareness and to promote social inclusion and community spirit their belief, then as now, is that Music, ICT, the Arts and the Broadcast Media are an excellent vehicle for engaging with young people, building confidence and self esteem, enriching communities and as a step in progressing young people onto further learning, volunteering, vocational training and employment.

Swamp currently run a number of programmes which includes Get ready for work aimed at 16 to 18 year olds not currently in employment or education. They also run a creative educational programme for young people in partnership with Cardonald College and a programme of activity in partnership with Ross hall secondary aimed at young people from S3 and S4.

Swamp will also be offering a number of leisure programmes starting in March including a new street dance programme and further developing the young at heart group for residents over 60 who wish to try new things within the arts. Swamp can also develop and deliver creative personal development programmes for your organisation.
