The East Centre & Calton area is an aggregation of the Council wards of East Centre and Calton. It includes many established communities including Calton, Bridgeton, Parkhead, Dalmarnock, Dennistoun, Haghill, Carntyne, Riddrie and Cranhill. The population of the entire area is 50,000, almost 9% of the total city population. It is the second smallest local CPP area in terms of population in Glasgow.
Together with the Baillieston, Shettleston & Greater Easterhouse local CPP, it forms the larger East Strategic Planning area. The East area is served locally by a dedicated team of support staff from the Community Planning section of Glasgow City Council.
This section reports on the work of the East Centre & Calton local Community Planning Partnership and the decision making of the local Board.
