Drumchapel has recently had a number of its play parks improved way beyond their former state.  Parks including Monymusk, Hecla and Drumry Play Park are now bustling with young people of all ages.  They have a wide range of innovative equipment in them and have soft safety surfaces to prevent injuries.   This was especially required in Hecla Park as it now boasts an impressive modern double climbing wall, whilst Monymusk benefits from a large multipurpose games court and Drumry benefits from a Play Area that is designed as a toddler play area.
 
Local Councillor Paul Carey stated, “ I am delighted to have played my part in helping Drumchapel improve it’s Play Parks particularly as the summer months were upon us and the young people now have a number of pleasant, fun and safe facilities to choose from. I am also absolutely delighted to see that Drumry Play Area is complete.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local Residents' Association and the local community for their support in making this a reality.  The Play Area is designed as a toddlers play area.  It will include, for example, swings, a roundabout and a see-saw.  Hopefully this will provide many years of enjoyment for toddlers in the surrounding area.”
